Boerewors is shipped frozen in a poly box with ice. We cannot guarantee that you will receive this item fully frozen.
Boerewors is an ideal sausage for the Barbecue. As it is a 100% meat filling, you will need to make sure that it is cooked through.
Light your coals and wait until they have a grey ash surface before you start cooking. Place the Boerewors to one side of your coals – indirect heat, while it cooks. Slow and steady will get the best result. You can place the boerewors on direct heat if it needs a little more colour.
Do not turn too often as it is essential to keep the Boerewors sausage whole so the casing will retain all the succulent and juicy flavours around the meat.
The end result should be tender and moist inside when served. Cooking times are about 20 minutes for thick Boerewors and about 15 minutes for thinner Boerewors.
